Is Joseph Lieberman Senator Palpatine?

Let's see...both are senators.  Both got a major rise to power at the same time that a jedi knight died (Lieberman with Sir Alec Guiness, a.ka. Obi-Won Kenobi and Palpatine with Qui-Gon Jinn).  There is very much a resembelance.
